FARMING

Blue Valley owns and manages 500 Acers of land located mainly at the Cairo – Alex desert road. All our farms are under Global Gap standards and certification to reassure consumers about how our produce is produced on the farm by minimizing detrimental environmental impacts of farming operations, reducing the use of chemical inputs and ensuring a responsible approach to worker health and safety as well as animal welfare. At Blue Valley we embrace an ecological approach to agricultural pest control that integrates pesticides/herbicides into a management system incorporating a range of practices for economic control of a pest. Using our Integrated Pest Management System, we attempts to prevent infestation, to observe patterns of infestation when they occur, and to intervene when one deems necessary. We choose a combination of management tactics for any pest situation including, mechanical or physical control, cultural controls, biological controls and chemical controls. We also use augmentative control on certain crops including the introduction of naturally occurring predators

• Pesticide Usage: We insure the use of Local and international approved pesticides only according to label instructions when all IPM methods and means fail and in extreme cases only and we make sure we adhere to PHI intervals for each pesticide based on the crop it has been used on and we furthermore residue analyze all our products prior to positively releasing them for international trade.
